Seven Springs Golf Course
It is an 18-hole golf
course that was built in 1968 and subsequent redesigns
in 1980 and 1992 have seen it nicely integrated into
the adjoining mountain side. There are three lakes
and many sand bunkers that maximize its beauty and
challenge. The tees range from 5000 to 6300 yards
and provide options for ladies and handicaps. The
golf course is a Mecca for the golf community that
calls 7 Springs Resort, home. Visitors to the golf
course can also enjoy various facilities at the Resort.
Seven Spring Mountain Resort is a huge conglomeration
of hotel, condominiums
and employees(around 1,500 workers).
Design
The golf course is designed to
be challenging and at the same time not too complicated.
Due to its uneven terrain, it might not be the best
option for beginners but the tiered greens prove irresistible
for anyone looking for an exemplary course for a pratical
training session. It should be noticed that the golf
course is not considered a typical mountain type variant.
It is designed on the slopes of a famous ski area
but golfers are pleasantly surprised to discover a
well-conceived layout that doesn’t include sudden
drops and crazy holes. Matt Trimbur, the head professional
states that this golf course will not provide too
many birdies but it is generally more open than its
counterparts. The course provides a perfect example
of a well sustained environment; the fairways are
trimmed, roughs are thick and the greens are positioned
to provide a delicate balance between slopes and surrounding
hazards.
Facilities
Every year, PGA
professionals participate in the annual tournament.
The signature hole is number 11 which can only be
accessed by an elevated tee. It fairway slant down
significantly towards the hole that is well guarded
by a lake and sand bunkers. The golf course is open
to the public and is a year round operation, except
in winter. In winter, the place takes its own life
becoming a ski area. Tee times are offered but it
is recommended to book at least two days in advance.

There is a putting green training facility along with
a restaurant and a fully licensed bar.
